I believe my servant, Butler, would continue to serve without corporal punishment. I suppose her servant obeyed her for the privilege of living with her and occasionally sleeping with her.

Her comments made me ask myself why Butler and I continue on this perilous path. I further realized that if I found Butler another place to live, he would undoubtedly continue to show up each day to clean my house.
